Smack A Mole!
Who would have thought checking your skin for suspicious moles could be fun! The Dermatology Nurses’ Association (DNA) has launched Smack A Mole, an educational game teaches players about the warning signs of melanoma and how to take preventative actions. Great for both adults and children, Smack a Mole is available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod and a portion of the proceeds from each sale goes to raising funds for the DNA.

A New Use for our Sunshades

Chad Lehr, product manager from one of our brother companies in the Dynamic Brands family, Slotline Golf, found an entirely new use for our Compact Sunhsade – a light diffuser for professional (and semi-professional) photographers.
As Chad and Luke (our in-house web ninja and sometime photographer) attempted to shoot a Slotline putter, they struggled to minimize reflections on the putter’s shiny face. What do you use to keep bright light at bay? A sunshade, of course!
So now, in addition to Protect-a-Bub, we’re Protect-a-Club. Sorry…I couldn’t resist.

Got Snow? Cover up!
According to Steamboat Springs, Colorado dermatologist Sandra Eivins, you will sunburn much easier on a ski trip than on a beach vacation. Being on top of a mountain puts you closer to the sun and the sun’s damaging ultraviolet rays.
“Every 1,000 feet in altitude, you will get 10 percent more sun exposure and less atmosphere to filter.”
The fact that light is also reflected off of the snow makes it twice as dangerous. That’s why you always need to slap on some sunscreen or cover up all together when spending time on the slopes or even just sledding down the neighborhood hill.
This advice is especially timely given that several feet of snow got dumped on the East Coast this weekend. Make sure to take extra sun protection precautions when you’re out enjoying the winter wonderland with your kids. Waterproof sunscreen, ski masks, neck gaiters, and UV-protective stroller sunshades can provide the additional protection necessary to ensure that you and your kids don’t get a dangerous dose of the sun’s UV rays.

Car Seat Sunshade Wins 2009 iParenting Media Award!
Our innovative Car Seat Sunshade won a 2009 iParenting Media Award for Outstanding Product! The independent reviewers loved the fact that the sunshade kept the sun and glare out of their little one’s eyes while in the car.
Safer than sunshades that attach to car windows with suction cups which can become projectile in the event of an accident, our Car Seat Sunshade will help you maintain peace and quiet during those little (and not-so-little) adventures on the road by blocking the sun no matter what direction it’s coming from.
As with all of our sunshades, it has been tested and rated UPF 50+, blocking out 99% of the suns harmful UV rays. It attaches easily to all infant and toddler car seats and features adjustable side flaps for added coverage.
The Car Seat Sunshade is a must-have item for those road trips to grandma’s this holiday season, especially now that the sun is so low in the sky. Click here to find an online retailer or a store near you.
